Rediscovering Faith: First Book for the year

The heart and soul of Royalty Press is good literature. So it makes sense that I would start this year off with a book. Every year I do a reading challenge, over on Goodreads, alternating between books in my areas of interest: theology, psychology and fiction. But whatever I decide to do I always try to start the year off with a book that I believe can set the tone for the year for me. This year I believe that book is Re-discovering Faith by Myles Munroe.

I can’t stress enough my belief in the importance of reading. I always think of it as having a variety of experts at your disposal, as the prime source of life long learning. The bible says that with all your getting you should get understanding, that wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7). I remember how reading Fasting by  Jenetzen Franklin got me through one of my toughest years at University by equipping me with an understanding of an important spiritual discipline. Rediscovering faith I believe is a good book to start with, as it redirects your focus on a key principle in the kingdom of God. Munroe says that faith is the currency of the kingdom of God for without nothing can be done. So far it’s an interesting read. This year though I want to take my reading challenge a little more seriously and so I invite you to help me stick to it. I’m hoping to read this book consistently for this month, with regular updates on Twitter and Facebook using #RDfaith2018.  I will also do blog posts on points of interest arising from the book, so stay updated.
